A glance in the club 

Bodies dripping with sweat.

Is this the heat of the moment, or a second chance?

Your body pressed against mine.

A conduit, My heart races. 

Is it too sudden to enjoy these embraces?

I prayed for a man, soft, strong, and true

In this space, You left me speechless. 

Trust in Allah and I’ll trust in You

You hold my hand and I’ll say “I do.”

Can I keep this secret?

My love won't be contained.

The morning light brushes your face

Safe in your arms, my worry erased. 

We lie in bed, I dream of a future. 

Our worlds were so different. Husband...Father...Lover...Adventure.

I check the boxes, looking for the perfect love, all the while knowing.

Will you scream from the roof,

Declare to the heavens?

In care I will keep you, with patience and love. I've put my faith in you and the Creator above.
